Bachelor of Finance program is designed to meet both academic and workforce demands while adhering to MQA-recognized financial standards. Furthermore, this program works in partnership with the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC) to offer students the chance to earn both a degree and a professional qualification as Registered Financial Planners (RFPs).

Finance is a massive industry to work in, and as such, there are plenty of great finance specializations out there one can choose to be a part of such as Cashflow Performance, Financial Statement Analysis, Personal Finances, Investments, International Finance and many more

UNIVERSITY

  • Passed SPM ( honors in Malay and History subject)
  • Pass STPM with at least CGPA 2.0 and Grade C in three (3) subjects including General Studies, or;
  • Passed the Matriculation of KPM/ UM Science Foundation/ Foundation UKM/ UiTM Foundation by getting at least CGPA 2.0, or;
  • Pass Diploma or other recognized qualifications equivalent to it by Malaysian government and certified by the University Senate, and;
  • Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1.0)
    in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

STPM

  • Post Matriculation/Foundation
  • Pass Matriculation/Foundation with at least CGPA 2.67.
  •  Get at least honors (Grade C)
    in Mathematics subjects and Grade D in
    English subject at SPM level;
  • Obtained at least Level 2 (Band 2.0)
    in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

MATRICULATION

  • Pass Matriculation/Foundation with at least CGPA 2.67.
  • Get at least honors (Grade C) in Mathematics subjects and Grade D in English subject at SPM level;
  • Obtained at least Level 2 (Band 2.0)
    in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

DIPLOMA

  • Diploma in Accounting or any field that fits minimum CGPA 2.67;
  • Get at least Honors (GradeC) in Mathematics and Grade D subjects in English subjects on
    SPM level;
  • Get at least Level 2 (Band 2.0) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

UMT’s Bachelor of Finance program (SMK) has full exemption of 6 registered professional modules Financial Planner (RFP) namely:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Financial Planning;
Module 2: Risk Management & Insurance Planning;
Module 3: Investment Planning;
Module 4: Zakat & Tax Planning;
Module 5: Estate Planning;
Module 6: Retirement Planning

To complete the 7 RFP Modules (can be taken in Semester 5 ) (Final Semester)

Limited to University Core and Faculty Core courses

  • Course passing grade – minimum grade which is grade C;
  • The credit value is the same as the credit value of the course at the receiving IPT;
  • Course curriculum equivalence – no less than 80%; and
  • Courses that can be transferred credit must be from
    programs that have been accredited (including Accreditation
    Temporary) / recognized by an authoritative body in the country concerned
