BACHELOR OF ACCOUNTING WITH HONOURS

The Bachelor of Accounting with Honours program takes 3.5 years to complete. Students must complete at least 126 credit hours according to the program structure to be awarded the Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) degree. This program is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and is also recognized by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). Additionally, the program has received recognition from several professional bodies, including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), CPA (Australia), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).

The specific entry requirements for the Bachelor of Accounting with Honours program at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu are as follows:

a) Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent, with a minimum grade of B- in one (1) of the subjects: Economics/Accounting/Business Studies/Business Management; and a minimum grade of C in Mathematics, and D for English at the SPM level

b) Matriculation/Foundation or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 3.0, and a minimum grade of C in Mathematics and D for English at the SPM level

c) Diploma in Accounting/related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 with a minimum grade of C in Mathematics subject and D for English at the SPM level.

d) Applicants must have at least Band 2.0 for the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).  

The Bachelor of Accounting at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu aims to prepare students for a successful career in the accounting profession, providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in a variety of accounting-related roles. Graduates may pursue careers as financial analysts, auditors, tax consultants, management accountants, risk managers, or financial managers, among others for public accounting firms, government agencies, financial institutions etc. The program also serves as a foundation for students who wish to pursue advanced studies in accounting, such as a master’s degree or professional certification programs.
