Dean’s Welcome Note

After the restructuring exercise throughout UMT effective from 1 August 2019, the two schools, formerly known as School of Maritime Business and Management and School of Social Development and Economics were merged into one faculty currently known as Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Development (FBESD), or in Malay, Fakulti Perniagaan, Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Sosial (FPEPS). FBESD offers a wide range of competitive undergraduates and postgraduates programs and all courses offered are designed and frequently revised to ensure their relevance to the real business world and the changing global economy.

At FBESD, we take honour in shaping the future of our students by providing education encompassing intellectual, emotional, physical, moral and cultural growth of human beings. We put the very best effort imparting knowledge, skills and expertise compatible with current market needs to empower our graduates in scripting successful career in future.
